Why Choose Us
The Jazz Custom Wood Flooring Difference
We excel at communication!
This is where most tradesmen really struggle. When you call us, we will get back to you by the next business day. And when your job is a significant way out on the schedule, we will regularly check in to give you any schedule updates as they come.
We are non-generational!
Most companies that are second and third generation like to tout how long their business has been in the family. What we have found this usually leads to, are bad habits being passed down from generation to generation, usually getting worse as time goes on. Even though I started learning the craft on the job for the first few years, I eventually went to schools through the National Wood Flooring Association to relearn the basics and relearn them right. Among the instructors in these schools were multiple Wood Floor of the Year winners.
We are insured!
We carry liability and workman’s comp insurance.
We take education seriously!
Every year we make sure to attend at least a few educational functions put on by the NWFA throughout the country in order to keep our skills sharp and stay on the cutting edge.
We are NWFA Certified!
While all contractors claim to do quality work, we have done our part to pass hands on and written exams to get certified by the NWFA to show that our work is up to snuff.
We use stains and finishes that you can’t buy on shelves at hardware stores that are specifically made for flooring!
Many people go down to the local hardware store to get any Minwax stain off the shelf to stain your floors. We use Duraseal stains. They are specifically made to add the durability that a flooring project in particular needs when compared to other stain applications (such as furniture). The same can be said for our finishes.
We practice dust control!
Although no job is ever “dustless”, homeowners are often pleasantly surprised by how little dust is created during the sanding process.
We will customize!
Want us to mix stains to get the color you want? You got it. Want to put a border around existing wood in your dining room or have some wood bent in order to conform to a geometric feature in your home? We have you covered.
We show up on time!
We will be there on time from the first estimate, to the last day when installing quarter round. If something unforeseen comes up that won’t allow us to be there on time as promised, we will let you know AS SOON as we know.
We will replace any splintered, damaged, or otherwise ugly boards prior to staining or finishing the floor!
Anything that is out of place we will try to make sure we get out of the floor. This is apart of our process where multiple times during the sanding process we will get on our hands and knees to crawl the floor looking for imperfections in sanding, staining, or the wood itself. We really don’t want to have to do your floors twice.
We have excellent relationships with manufacturers!
Part of our membership with the NWFA has allowed us to cultivate relationships with equipment, stain, finish, and wood manufacturers. Many of whom, we have the direct phone number to their lead technical reps. So if there is an issue with a product, we will get it sorted out as promptly as possible.
We take it personally!
If your floor isn’t done exceptionally, well, it will bother us. Really. It will. We won’t pull any punches when it comes to procedures. If there is something we can do to improve your floor that will cost us more money, we are going to do it. Our motto is that “we aren’t doing our best, but pursuing the best way that it can be done.” And we mean it.
